Ski-Update (Check this at the last minute for changes.)

NEXT CLUB EVENT:      On Sat. Feb. 4, 2012, we plan to ski at Cedar Breaks, where there may be groomed ski trails. We expect to ski about 4 miles round trip, including a stop at the Cedar Breaks Yurt. The ability level will be "easy to intermediate." Let's meet at 10 AM at the Cedar City Main St. Park, 200N & 100E, for car pooling. As usual, bring appropriate layered clothes, water, lunch and ski equipment. For any last minute changes, check this "Ski-Update" page. Please bring a little extra water to heat for cocoa at the yurt.
Sat. weather at Cedar Breaks: sunny, high 22, wind 8-14 mph (says NOAA).

HIGHWAY CLOSURE: Highway 14 east of Cedar City will be closed till sometime in the summer of 2012, approximately between mile markers 5 (Milt's Restaurant) and 27 (the Navajo Lake Road), due to a landslide, so it will be difficult to reach some of our favorite Nordic ski areas at Deer Valley, Midway Valley, and the SUU Mountain Road, from Cedar City this winter. We'll have to concentrate on areas near Brian Head and Cedar Breaks.
