Deer Hollow Grooming Report for 2/23/26
Topher and I were back at it today. Fresh corduroy was laid down on all ski trails, and classic tracks were set on all trails except Easy Street, Outback, and Aspen. The snowshoe loop trail remains ungroomed. Next scheduled grooming will happen on Friday, 2/27. And more good news: The parking lot is plowed!

Deer Hollow Grooming Report for 2/19/26
I flew solo today in some challenging grooming conditions. 24” – 36” of new snow blanketed the area between Midway and Deer Hollow. In those conditions, all trails have to be “tracked” out with the snowcat before the tiller can be used to groom, otherwise the cat bogs down and flounders in the deep snow. Having to pack out each trail before grooming takes extra time and fuel, so I tried to go for quality, not quantity. All of the “perimeter” trails were groomed with cordur

GROOMING REPORT FOR 2/13/26 Best Snow Conditions of the Season
Topher and I spent 9 hours in the snowcat on Friday, the 13th, grooming almost 40 miles of trail between Midway and Deer Hollow, including all of the ski trails at Deer Hollow. There were 8-10 inches of new snow and corduroy was groomed over all trails, with classic tracks set over most trails. The snowshoe trails were not groomed due to downed trees that the groomer cannot maneuver around (but you can get around them just fine on snowshoes!). The trails set up nicely overnig

GROOMING REPORT FOR 1/9/26
It was a good day to groom! The club’s grooming crew was at it all day today and got it all done! (Almost). Corduroy was laid on all trails except the snowshoe trail and Aspen. Classic tracks were set on all groomed trails except for Basalt and Claron. High winds caused lots of drifting, and blowing snow was already covering the grooming shortly after our pass, but the trails are in good condition and should set up nicely overnight for some good skiing over the weekend. GROOMING REPORT FOR 1/7/2026
Your volunteer CMNSC crew (Topher and Steve), along with Jess from the Forest Service, completed a successful, if abbreviated, grooming run on Tuesday, 1/6/26. For the first run of the season, and after a thorough “pre-flight” inspection of the groomer, we made slow and careful tracks across the Sage Valley snowmobile trail to Deer Hollow, checking to make sure there was sufficient snow cover across the whole route. Snow depth was a good 2 feet or more along the route, except
